Pairing: 1+2, 1+Relena (one-sided)
Warnings: Typos. No beta.
Disclaimer: This is just fanfiction, non-profit and just for fun.
Notes: Even more Relena-bashing! There were moments in this series where Relena was helpful and not a complete caricature, but that's not enough to counteract the meanness of this. I find it difficult to relate to the ME that wrote this ten years ago.
Word Count: 560
Summary: Queen Relena's suitor wants to get out of the country.
Relena played with her pure white pearls as she waited impatiently for Lord Yuy to arrive. She had something dreadfully urgent to ask him. He mustn't be late.
As the clock in her drawing room rang 2 o'clock, Lord Yuy strolled into the room. She smiled as he approached and bowed before her. "You asked for me, Your Majesty?"
"Why, yes. Yes, I did, Lord Yuy," Queen Relena said as she settled herself into a seat. Her dress lifted up slightly, but she would be more than a little proud of herself if Yuy tried to sneak a look. She was oddly disappointed when he did not. "I need to ask you a question."
"And what would that be, Your Majesty," he replied. There was a faint sound of annoyance in his voice, but she paid it no mind. Most likely it was caused by one of his servants or that loud-mouthed friend of his.
"Well," she started, fiddling with her pearls once more, "I was wondering about our wedding."
"Our wedding..."
"Why, of course, our wedding, silly!" The queen rose from her chair and gracefully walked up to him. Her thick skirts whispered against the polished wood floor.
"But," Lord Yuy began.
"Oh, I know you haven't 'officially' proposed to me, but we'll have to tell the nation about 'us' sooner or later, don't you think?" Her creamly hands took Lord Yuy's and placed them against her heavily emboidered bodice. "Heero..."
"Well," Heero began as he turned his eyes away, "there was a proposal I was going to present to you tonight at the banquent..." Relena gasped in giddy anticipation as Heero wiggled one of his hands out of her grip and slipped it into his pocket. "But, I guess I should give it to you now..."
He placed a rolled piece of parchment into her waiting eyes and watched as her eyes lost almost all the giddly love-light they held before.
She slowly unrolled it and read the words written on it in black ink. Her voice was reed-thin. "You're heading back to America?"
"For the good of your kingdom, Your Majesty. I intend to go and claim land for you." Lord Yuy bowed briefly.
"With Maxwell?"
"Of course. Not only is he familiar with the land, he is my second. I can't very well leave him here without anything to do." He took the roll back none too gently and quickly rolled it up.
"What's going on between you too, *Lord* Yuy?"
"Excuse me?"
Relena glared at Heero. "I hear things, Heero. That you and that stupid friend of yours are more than 'friends'." She could taste the bitterness in her words, but she did not care. Heero was turning her down once again for America, and that worthless friend of his from America.
"You're overeacting, Relena," he said simply as he slipped the parchment back into his pocket. "Besides, it's illegal in fair Britain for two men to lay together *that* way. Why would I do something illegal?"
Relena stamped her foot. "You're not leaving Heero. I won't let you!"
Heero turned around and headed for the door. "See you in the banquent, Relena."
He gently closed the door behind him, leaving a fuming, and scheming, Relena behind.
